I am not sure about how I got the layout that I ended up with except to say that I mixed up some resolution sizes (not all photos were 1,5+ mb images) and the combination of vertical and horizontal photos.
The lion statue is in our backyard planter at the base of a hill, very regal. My wife is a Leo and we have lions everywhere.
I looked at your blog and like what you are doing. Your header photo is very appropriate.
