Travel theme: Animals

In honor of World Animal Day on October 4th, Ailsa’s Travel Theme this week is Animals. The critters featured below, and their cousins, have been frequent visitors to our “Backyard Salad Bar” for years. Last year we finally put up a fence around the backyard and now we have vegetables and flowers and no deer (Oh, dear!).

Two deer in a backyard.

I have them at my place and know how much damage they can do – still I would miss them if they stayed away. Great shot.

Thanks for the compliment. The deer show up outside the fence and stare longingly at our roses. This is the first time in 29 years that we have actually been able to pick our own flowers.

My dogs keep them away from the roses – but everything else is fair game.
