Weekly Photo Challenge: Up

Up can be a direction, an orientation, or even a movement…”WordPress Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge

This is kaleidoscopic view of a skylight in a vaulted ceiling at the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, CA. I had to rearrange some couches in order to lie on the floor and shoot up at this heavenly domed ceiling.

I fell down a flight of stairs when I was 4-5 years-old and I recently realized that 98% of my photos of stairs are from the bottom, looking up. Since that day I am concentrating on including photos looking down flights of stairs and that has been a ‘fresh view’ for me.

Interesting, Allan. Isn’t it amazing how our early childhood experiences shape the view of our world?

You are welcome. I just got emotional over one of yours.
We are all human but I believe in the legal system to a certain degree and au courant at the very least.
        It is not.

Great shot, is that a balcony that runs all around?

Yes, it is a bit of a catwalk that encircles the room. I am not certain of this, but I think that at some point it might have been a theater and the stage lights were up there on the second level.

Good point: 90% of indoor photography seems to involve moving/straddling furniture.
