Weekly Photo Challenge: Monument

I took this photo on the way home after one of my Graveyards shifts. On a clear day, sunrise at the GGB is a spiritual event.

Lovely I was on that exact spot of road on a bike! I will never forget it and I took no photos cause we were flying! Great shot!

Thanks, it is definitely not the place for mobile photography on a bicycle.

I really wanted to stop but we headed over the bridge and down the steep hill into the beautiful quaint town whose name escapes me and took the ferry. It was a perfect day!

Sausalito is the first town on the North end of the bridge.

This is absolutely beautiful and yes, you can feel the atmosphere through the photo so it must be truly wonderful being there in person.

It is amazing in any kind of weather, but on a clear day the sunrise/sunsets are breath-taking.

Congratulations on your successful career and much deserved retirement. This photo, like so many you have taken, is frame worthy, Allan. All the best to you.

High praise, indeed. Thank you, Stephanie.

I was a bit undecided whether or not to take the photo when the bikers came into the frame, but they filled up the lower part of the frame so fast that I just took the photo without further thought. It turned out to be a good decision and I am happy with the results.

Reblogged this on sfetner69 and commented:
The GGB is so special. Every time a picture of it pops up, my g/f goes, “The Golden Gate Bridge. I’ve been there! I love it. It is so beautiful.!”

Thanks, Al. It was a happy coincidence once I got over the ‘intrusion’ of the bicyclists.
