Create an image that represents being “a face in the crowd.” Explore silhouettes, shadows, orientation, and other ways to mask your subject… Explore the use of anonymity to express both that which is common to all of us and the uniqueness that stands out even when the most obvious parts of us are hidden. —WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge
I overlaid textures, patterns and forms in an attempt to shift focus from the subject to that of the soft light falling into the photo. It’s not a face in the crowd. It’s more like a face after the crowd walked on it.
Has a Leonardo chiaroscuro quality to it. Love the beard 🙂

Great take on the challenge, Allan. The pensive expression. Perhaps looking toward a crowd and thinking “there’s something happening here…” Kind of a metaphor for the times.

A bit of Dylan’s “Ballad of a Thin Man” perhaps? Thanks for your insightful comment.

Buffalo Springfield, actually.

Buffalo Springfield works great. I’ve been listening to a lot of Bob Dylan this week so I just went for the reference off the top of my head.

Whether it works for the challenge or not, Allan, I really like what you did here. I didn’t have time to work on the challenge this week, the first week I’ve been around to participate. Ahh, well, so it goes. 🙂

Your other photos have been wonderful examples of the photographic art, Janet. Look at this as one less hoop to jump through.

This an unusual challenge. I like the movement you created. The texture off his head appears to be thoughts escaping….

Thanks, Carol. That effect was in the back of my mind during the editing process. A bit like an illustration for an article about psychology or mental health.

Or mental illness. Really works as an illustration.
