The capsule-shaped elevator cars in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency hotel in Atlanta, GA glide silently from floor to floor, adding a graceful science-fictionlike vibe to the futuristic elements of John Portman’s 1967 design.
Looks like something out of a beautiful steam-punk inspired dream. Great shot 🙂

Good point, Carol. I was going to school in Atalanta when the hotel opened in 1967 and it was mind-blowing at the time. The entire hotel got remodeled about 10 years ago and it is still an amazing place.
