WPC: Harmony

…harmony also has a meaning outside of the world of music: ‘the quality of forming a pleasing and consistent whole.’ I look forward to seeing harmony — a photo that is, or makes you feel harmonious — through your eyes.” —WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge

They may look like musical notes, but this is a photo of the staggered-start lane markers on a running track.

I used the John S lens and BlacKeys Supergrain film combination in the Hipstamatic app to take this photo.

I like it! Shapes, leading lines, negative space…all presented as a harmonious whole..

What a great idea. The staggered arrows grow toward the viewer. The leading lines and overall movement forward while pulling us back to the vanishing point is a very creative use of space.

Allan, I love this response (and I did know what those were, being a sprinter at various times in my life.) Your choice is creative and beautifully presented.

thanks, Janet. This is one of those “composition” tracks at a local high school. It is like walking on a cloud compared to the asphalt tracks of my youth, and much nicer than the old cinder tracks.

Ahh, yes, cinders. I remember those, but not necessarily fondly.

50, 100, low hurdles at one point, long jump, and I’ve done the 200. Anything more than that is distance to me. 🙂 And the distances were yards, not meters, when I started!

Ha, ha! You’re right there, Allan. Never thought of that one. That would make me old!
