“Juxtaposition: the act of placing things side by side, especially for the purpose of comparison or contrast…”
My entry this week compares a juxtaposition of the concept of Gratitude—the gratitude that we, as a nation, have for the men and women in our Armed Forces and the gratitude that they have for one another.

This causes some thinking. My brother was Special Forces for 18 years until he was medically discharged. Gratitude is a odd thing, I was always grateful for his safe return from places unknown.

Thank you for checking in with your story about your brother. We can all be grateful for his service to the country.

I like your take on this. We’re always thinking about how grateful we are to the troops – and that we are – but you present the excellent perspective of what they are probably grateful for, among many other things no doubt.
Cheers to having a very special set of skills that some might frown upon and see no use for!

Ha, Allan. Good luck to us with that warm bit. It’s not likely to be warm here until at least the end of next week. And that’s just comparatively warm. 🙂

With much gratitude to all.
Good post.
My son was a sniper. He still kids about having to use some of his skills, like when a tree took out their electricity three nights ago and he went into survival mode to warm up his wife and our three grandkids and rustle up some dinner.
All kidding aside – God bless them all.

that’s a tough one to “like”… interesting capture which makes one think twice about things…

Thinking twice about things was what I hoped to accomplish with this image. It all goes back to the concept of having an “Attitude of Gratitude”, and that depends upon where we are standing at the time, I do believe.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate hearing other viewpoints on this sensitive subject.
