Blast From the Past — 1948

Engine production was faster than car production as the U.S. shifted from a wartime economy back to its consumer manufacturing roots. You might not get delivery of a new Buick automobile as quickly as you wanted one, but you could drop a new engine in your old pre-war car and live the dream.
