Unfortunately, history is filled with groups that absorbed/gobbled up/killed other groups and then often, had the same done to them. As with so much else, perspective makes all the difference in how a story is told and all ways of telling can be correct.

History belongs to the victors at least for awhile. If people stick around long enough, maybe we’ll share more accurate versions of history.

That’s a challenge these days with all the technology available to alter events. It emphasizes the old statement, “I guess you had to be there…”
