    It’s interesting to watch words change. Bird-watchers has been replaced by birders (since we find birds by sound as well as sight), and the ‘suffragette’ I grew up with has become ‘suffragist.’ When I began my professional career in the ministry, women pastors still were called ‘pastorettes’ by many people. That’s disappeared now, too.
