Overheard in Passing

Sometimes bits and pieces of conversations are as interesting as quick glimpses of people and places. The other day I passed a gentleman sitting in a wheelchair outside a Starbuck’s holding a mobile phone against his ear.

As I walked past him he started speaking:

“You don’t pickup a stranger in a Hooters and take them to a coffee shop in a city they’ve never been to and leave them there for 5 hours. What the fuck, man?”

This sounds like Emmy/Oscar-winning dialogue. Thanks for bringing a genuine “lol” moment into my afternoon.

This is a great one, Allan! One of our favorite activities when running or walking. Always wanted to compile in a book…story starters, overheard, in passing…. and we sure have heard some doozies over the years. Wish I’d written them down.

Perhaps. It could also be used as a flash fiction prompt.

Stranger than fiction. Rise to the challenge. In 50 words or less complete this story… Ha!
