The Blue Roof Inn

Becky has a new Square format photo challenge for the month of June and the theme is ROOFS.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Marin County Civic Center has a not-so-nice nickname, The Blue Roof Inn. The name is a derisive nod to the jail, and its inhabitants, on the far end of this gorgeous public building.

Words can be used to communicate or conceal, but they can’t take away the genius and beauty of this design.

Wonderful picture. It reminds me of Antoni Gaudí’s work.

Wow! Beautiful edifice and great shot framing it with nature… The nickname seems a reminder that it’s not just form, but function.

This place never gets old. They are doing some roof repairs right now and so views like this are a bit cluttered with scaffolding, etc.
