May 2, 1964 — An explosion sinks the American aircraft carrier USS Card while it is docked at Saigon. A North Vietnamese frogman had placed a bomb on the ship. She is raised and returned to service less than seven months later.

    Those were incredible years. I was just looking at dates and the war started when I was eight. The years went by, I married and moved to Washington DC in ’69 and saw the protests up close and personal. What memories.
