Frankly Prolific

This week, show us your interpretation of prolific…let your imagination fuel your camera.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s prolific career spanned seven decades. Of his 1,114 architectural designs, 532 were actually constructed. He is recognized by the American Institute of Architects as the “greatest American architect of all time.”

Pictured below are photos of the Marin County Civic Center, the last of his designs to start construction before his death in 1959 at the age of 91.

Thanks for your comment, Janet. You are in prime FLW territory, have you visited any of his work?

I’ve been to Falling Rock in PA, but been woefully remiss in seeing anything here. We’ll have to put that on our agenda for this summer…if it ever warms up. 🙂 At least last night snow is almost gone and spring-like temperatures are in the forecast.

That house is the reason that I became so enamored of FLW’s style. I believe that it has been recently refurbished.

Watch your step when you are out for a walk. We don’t want Spring to have sprung any surprises.

Absolutely! Gorgeous use of Hipstamatic. Wright would like the design quality of them.

Thanks, Carol. You and John need to come over for a photo walk sometime. We could have a ton of fun on a docent tour.

Thanks Allan, that would be fun. Unfortunately I’m doing no walking, foot in a cast for a while. Trying to heal my heel in prep for a trip to England. Wow!
BTW the guy I hang around with is Jim.

Ooooops, sorry about that, Jim. I understand about the need to heal for your trip. We can always get together some other time in the future when everyone is healthy.

The shadows are fun because they change from hour-to-hour/day-to-day depending on the weather and season of the year. I love the challenge of seeing something new each time I visit a familiar area of the building.
