Pushing the Limits

I have found myself in a weird space for the last week. The last update to my Hipstamatic app has rendered it unusable for taking photos on my phone. It has developed a habit of crashing every time I press the shutter button.

The horror. The horror…

I reported it to the developer and they are working on a fix, but so far it’s no-go. The good news is that I can still use the Hipstamatic app to edit photos that I have taken with other apps and that is exactly what I did with this photo.

This is another photo that I took using the native camera in the iPhone X and the Portrait Mode with the Stage Light Setting. I edited that image with the Fynn 8mm Lens/Dasher Film/Apollo Flash combination in the Hipstamatic app and then made some additional edits with the Luminar app.

It has been a cumbersome, but satisfying, experience and it has led me to some new processes that bear more investigation.

4/13/18 Update

Great news, Hipstamatic has updated the app and fixed the Bug that has been such a problem for us. I tested it on my phone this morning and, once again, all is well in Al’z World.

This reminds me that tech is still light years behind human creativity. Great picture and great beard 🙂

Thanks, Man. I’m still working at mastering the art of the beard trim. The good news, wait a week and start again…

Allan, nicely processed and your experimentation rewards with the above results.

Thanks, Sally. I learned a few things out of necessity that bode well for the future.

I’ll say it again: you are the master of editing, especially with Hipstamatic.

Thank you, Janet. The good news is that Hipstamatic has put through an update and repaired the issue this morning. Yay!

You seem to be drifting in the stars of Marin County. Neat effect.

Thanks, Al. Last October it would have been ash and particulate matter from the Sonoma fires drifting around me.
