When you are distressed by an external thing, it’s not the thing itself that troubles you, but only your judgment of it. And you can wipe this out at a moment’s notice. —Marcus Aurelius

The perfect day for me to have seen this as I ponder what to write in a second year memorial on my husband’s passing. I sat and looked at this quote and realized that if one changes the perspective, the external thing / thought causing distress (death) can be wiped out if I think about the good that was before the death. It’s all in how you look at things.
Thank you for your daily quotes. And forgive me for going maudlin.

Thank you for your response, Angeline. I don’t think that it is maudlin at all. You are being quite open and honest about the situation before you. I hope that the good memories outnumber the painful ones.

Probably true, but that last part is easier said than done, to use another quote. 😉

That might be the reason that there are so many bosses. Things are easier said than done.
