Photo of the Day 12/3/17

We made the pilgrimage to the Marin County Civic Center last week to render our taxes unto Caesar. It was our yearly goodnews/bad news brush with the authorities—the good news being that I had a chance to take some new photos in my favorite spot in the county.

I used the native camera in my iPhone X to take this photo and made edits with the Luminar app.

Wow! What a spectacular photo. Great composition and colors. You should talk to those Apple folks. Would be a great advert for the new phone. Ditto the Civic Center people. Would be great hanging in the halls or the library. Nice, Allan.

It’s amazing how you captured the color vibrancy and interplay between the purples and golds. Reminds me of Picasso. Great work, Allan.

Thank you, Ze. I could spend the rest of my life in this place and never tire of it.

        Where is it?

It’s the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, it is the last of his designs that started construction while he was still alive. I remember seeing sketches of it when I was a kid in Ft Lauderdale and marveling at it’s outer space features.

Allan, once again you have made a memorable image of what must be a journey into discovery during each visit.

Thank you, Sally. I never tire of taking photos here. It’s as if a spaceship from the future landed and welcomed everyone aboard. FLW was waaaay ahead of his time (and ours).

Thanks, Al. I look at it as a yearly payment for a photographic production set that’s beyond compare.

Thanks, Carol. You would flip your lid at the photo opportunities in this building.
