Fiction in 50: Closure

Bruce has challenged us to craft a story using fewer than 51 words on the following topic:

Title: Closure
Word Count: 50

“The company just downsized and let half of us go.”

“Relax, kiddo.”

“I just lost my job, Frank.”

“The job’s not lost, kid. It’s still there. Someone else is doing it.”

“Not helping.”

“Hey, when one door shuts another one opens. It’s a fact.”

“Yeah? This hallway is a bitch.”

That’s too funny! Perspective is key 😀

Oh man Allan, an even shorter fiction challenge? I am in. Your story is tight and good.

Thanks, Joe. I tried this after doing the 100-word flash stories for awhile. Now they seem long. Recently I started the six-word challenges and the 100-word entries seem like novellas. Perspective is a funny thing.
