Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Black and White

The topic for Sally’s photo challenge this week is Black and White. I returned to my favorite mural in San Rafael and used the Penny lens/Aristotle film/Cherry Shine flash combination in the Hipstamatic app to take this photo.

Very nice results from your capture and Hipstamatic. In monochrome intensity is heightened and pegs for more information. Happy Photo Challenge.

Thanks, Sally. I just got a tip on a new B&W camera app: Blackie. It is $.99 and word-on-the-street is, “no in-app purchases”.

I am going to get it and will let you know how it works out.

The mural is about 20 feet long and that face is a part of the tableau.

Cool image. Great lines. Stark emotion. Where is it?

Hi, Tom. The mural is on a wall in a covered parking bay in downtown San Rafael, next to the Post Office on D Street.

It is hit or miss on just how much of the mural is available to view due to parked vehicles. Whenever I am there and it is unblocked I tend to go crazy with combinations. I save the best for use elsewhere.
