This week Cee has challenged us to post a photo of something that makes us happy.

Our backyard has become a festival of fragrance, light and color since our roses have started to bloom. I have been capturing the early morning light for the past few days and it lifts my spirits and makes me happy.

I used the Tejas Lens/Robusta Film/Jolly Rainbo 2X Flash combination in the Hipstamatic app to take this photo.

I’m glad to read that some your roses have fragrance, Allan. There are so many that are beautiful but have no scent which, it seems to me, is an integral part of a rose. (Otherwise, how could it by another other name smell as sweet, asks Will S.) Gorgeous shot. Make me wish I could visit your garden.

The fragrant ones are a challenge for my allergies and a small price to pay for their beauty and the photos I end up with.

Oh yes! My morning walk through the garden with a camera is the happiest time of the day, too. Beautiful capture and editing!!!
I can smell it from here…

Thanks, Cee. Last year was not a good one for our roses, but what rain we had this year is yielding glorious results.
