Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Nature

The topic for Sally’s photo challenge this week is nature. I used the Hipstamatic app with the Jane lens/Big Easy film/Jolly RainBo 2X flash combination to photograph this leaf under a tree in Greenbrae, CA.

Backlighting can do wonders with translucent subjects, as you’ve showed.

It’s a day for light, Allan, and yours is a beauty.

Thanks, Janet. This was late-afternoon light filtered thru a stand of trees. This leaf was lit and on display for me to photograph. I was glad to be there at that moment.

Allen, my first reaction: what a beauty. Then I revisited it, and saw how (our favorite app) gave extra strength to the rays of light on the upper right side. The image is simple and lovely. Happy Photo Challenge.

What’s not to LOVE about this photo?!?!? A delicate leaf gently illuminated, clearly displaying every vein, with that wonderful droop of its stem. The brilliant blue peaking through on the left with other greenery lit up on the other side. Oh. And that gorgeous light streaming in on the right side of the frame. Nice work, Allan.
