Here’s Looking Up at You, Kid

I am most impressed by the Golden Gate Bridge when I am looking up at it from below.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Ups and Downs of Outdoors

This week Cee has challenged us to illustrate ways and things that people use to move up & down outdoors. The photo below shows one way we get around on the bridge above the roadway, we walk on the Main Cable.

A Sign of the Times?

Recently I have combined my love of signs with my new passion for iPhoneography and photo editing. The photo below is one of those Only in California shots that I took on a creek bank near a local high school. I am still puzzled by how the otters know to cross the road at this location.

Travel Theme: Liquid

This week’s Travel Challenge is liquid, inspired by rainstorms in Ailsa’s area. My photo is a shot of an early morning dew drop, a precursor to the winter storms yet to sweep across the Pacific Ocean.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Colorful Monotone

This week Cee asks us to post some photos that have a ‘Monotone Color Scheme’, and she defined this as follows, “…This scheme, sometimes called monotonal, uses one color, and one color only, with little variation in value or saturation. That is, lighter and darker variations on the color are not part of the overall scheme, nor are duller or brighter variations of that color.”

I turned to some photos I took during some of our trips to trips to New Mexico. I am a big proponent of shadows and highlights in photographs and the last part of the definition was a  particular challenge for me. Enjoy!
