Rock was born in the South, so saying ‘Southern rock’ is like saying ‘rock rock.’

“Midnight Rider” still is one of the best night-driving songs there is. Well, and “Statesboro Blues.” If it weren’t for Lynyrd Skynyrd I’d say the Allman Brothers top my list of southern rockers — if it weren’t for the Marshall Tucker band… Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a little youtube browsing to do.

Be my guest, those are some great groups. There’s a fascinating film on iTunes (one of their $.99ers) called “Trial of Midnight Rider—Railroaded in the Deep South”. It’s a look at the fatal accident and trial during the filming of a documentary on the Allman Brothers. Cover up, collusion and corruption where it shouldn’t be.

I just browsed some of the entries about the documentary. It looks worth the time. I hadn’t heard a thing about it. Of course, in that context it brings to mind other meanings of “midnight riders” — not so appealing as a nice cross-country drive with some tunes playing.

We enjoyed the doc, but the sound volume was a bit erratic.
The 99-cent iTunes movies have been my big discovery since I retired. They add new ones every Tuesday and there is always the 99-cent Movie-of-the-week on the main Store page.

    Allan, totally unrelated question.

I may be unduly alarmed but I’ve noted a steady viewership of lots and lots of my photos over the past couple of weeks or so and it appears to be someone in Japan (with no likes or comments). If it’s nothing to be concerned about then, of course, I’m flattered but it seems a little odd. I wonder if someone might be ‘stealing’ photos, mine and/or others. Your thoughts?

Perhaps they are just looky-loos. Have you tried clicking on their website below their name?

I haven’t paid much attention to people who don’t leave comments or ‘likes’, but I’ll take a gander and let you know what I find out.

There is no name, unless you’re referring to something I’m not aware of. I’m see the world map that highlights the number of views and where they originate from.

I see what you’re saying and I have not paid any attention to the map so far.

There’s a website that you use to and see if anyone is posting your photos. Here it is:

Thanks, Allan. I’ll check it out!
