You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Nowadays everybody’s crazy.

Recently saw a meme on Facebook with a saying “Relax. We’re all crazy. It’s not a competition “. Author not quoted. Maybe sums up the current situation of the world.

Hard to know what to say to that one, especially from him.

Thanks, Al. I have an interesting experience concerning him. I might write it up someday.

The image of Manson that comes to me is his penetrating, wild eyes on either side of the swastika tattoo between his brows. There is all kind of craziness in this world. Much of it to be enjoyed, even celebrated. The scary, crazy is that which leads us to disrespect the precious gift of life. Hope you do write up your Manson experience.
I’d like to read it. Have a Father’s Day, Al OTW!

30 years ago we attended an exhibition of photographs by the staff photographers of our local newspaper, the Marin Independent Journal. We wandered in and out of the maze of photos and at one point the hair on our arms and the back of our necks stood up. A feeling of dread flooded over us. We turned to follow the path to the next section and there before us was a larger-than-life photo of Manson, bottom-lit, red gels on the flash units and those penetrating eyes of his on either side of that swastika that he carved into his forehead. When I think of him, or drive past San Quentin, I cannot shake that photo, or my reaction, from my head.

I hope that your Father’s Day is a good one, too.
