I’ve been pretty interested in U-Boat activity during WW2. I’ve dived on many wrecks sunk by subs all up and down the US east coast, and I’ve dived two wrecked German U-boats, but I never knew they got as far atround as the mouth of the Mississippi. There was quite a balancing act between the number of torpedoes they could carry and the amount of fuel. THis one must have had only one or two torpedows and all the rest fuel.
    Very informative post!
Now I’m going to see if I can find my books on the subject.

A few years ago we saw the documentary, Shadow Divers. It followed a group of guys who explored sunken submarines. You have quite a hobby. Be careful down there.
