Black and White Challenge: Day Two

I have been challenged by several photographers to post a Black & White photograph everyday for 5 days, and to invite other photographers to participate.

My second photo was also taken at the grist mill in St. Helena, CA. I nominate artsifrtsy, over at theeffstop, to join me in this challenge.

Love the orientation of the building to the sky and those streaks of clouds!

Thanks, Julie. I had to choose whether to put the main subject in a vertical position or use the horizontal plane to skew the viewing angle. This way I got the sky in the corner.

Nicely done, Allan…bit of mystery with those dark windows and that gnarled tree

      Hi, Sue.

I was trying to get some textures to contrast with the smooth sky and that tree seemed to work well with the wood siding and windows.

        I rather think you succeeded!
