Sally’s Editing and Processing Photo Challenge

This week over at Lens and Pens by Sally the challenge is to use some editing and processing apps to modify our photo.

I used the ToonCamera app to create a color and a black&white version of this photo. I combined both of these versions using the Union app and adjusted the opacity of the layers to get the photo below.

I like the way the chrome on the back of the mirror pops in the second image. What do you think?

I agree, the chrome is so much more…chromey! Great job with this, the effects are wonderful. I appreciate the more vibrant color of the paint job as well. Very good! 😀

Duck tape come to life above the mirror? Pure photo & applied revision reflect well on the photographer/editor. For more context what vehicle uses these kinds of mirrors now?

      Hi Al,

It is my buddy’s old ’58 Chevy truck. The duct tape is a recent addition pending arrival of replacement glass.

“Mirror, Mirror” reminds me of images for animation. It has a strong graphic quality that is engaging. I also like the original for your perspective and the close-up is a strong angle to detail the waves of colors. Happy end of the year and warm wishes for a calm and peaceful year in the new phase of your life. Let’s not cal it retirement. I detest the implications of that word. This part of our lives is filled with so many possibilities; it’s impossible to stand too still when the moment is upon us for unchartered exploration (sorry for the rant).

Thanks, Sally. I look at “retirement” as a new beginning—the start of the next phase in life where I take what I have learned and apply it to what I choose to do.

      Happy New Year!

I do like the way the chrome pops! I’m trying to learn so much, as I’m going to be buying my first camera soon, and I want to know how to use it…the apps to use, etc. Your photos are so expressive, I like to follow what you do.
