Nits and Lice

This post is an effort to “clean up” some files and miscellaneous bits of information that may be of interest to readers of this blog.

  • Over at the San Francisco Synthesizer Ensemble Patrick has informed me that their “Play The Golden Gate Bridge” app for iPads is FREE until December 19, 2013, then the price goes up… With this app you can turn the bridge into a musical instrument and create your own music using sounds recorded at various parts of the bridge.
  • WHO YOU CALLIN’ A MOOC? Actually, it is pronounced MoooooK, and the letters stand for: Massive Open Online Course. I have beentaking a free class on the Future of Storytelling from iVersity, located in Potsdam, Germany. It has been a very enjoyable experience and I have learned a few new ways to tell a story that I hope to incorporate in this blog in the near future. New courses will start in January. Here is an introductory video that explains the concept of online universities:

  • Last February I wrote a post about a local 9-year old who made a stand against childhood slavery. She has inspired a team of documentary filmmakers to investigate Modern Slavery and a trailer of their movie is embedded below.
